Meet our new apprentice

28 February 2018

Here at Hales & Coultas we have a commitment and passion to support young people starting their heating and plumbing careers, which is why we take on apprentices in our team.

Luke started his apprenticeship 26 February 2018. He’s settled in well and was even the face of a video posted on the Hales & Coultas Facebook page after just five days in the job.

Luke is 22 years old and previously worked for a farm company, so this is a completely different job for him to learn. He has already completed his college work and has his heating and plumbing certificates. He wanted to start an apprenticeship so he could get hands on experience he wouldn’t get from just going to college.

Luke says there are lots of benefits to being an apprentice; “The great thing is that I can earn a wage while I’m out actually learning the job. It’s very different actually getting hands on experience rather than just looking at books.

Andy Hales, Manager of Hales & Coultas, said: “We believe in supporting apprentices here at Hales & Coultas. An apprenticeship is a great way to get the hands on experience to go alongside the learning you do at college. We’ve had some brilliant apprentices and will definitely continue to support young people starting out in their career.”
