Modern oil boilers are all condensing models and are quieter, cleaner and more efficient than their predecessors, achieving A rated efficiencies of over 90%.

Oil boilers do require an external oil storage tank which will need re-filling periodically by a tanker. Modern controls communicate with and notify the oil supplier when the oil reaches a low level and an order is placed to re-fill the tank ensuring the tank never runs out of oil.

As well as installing the boiler, we can also provide a new Oftec compliant concrete base for your new oil tank as well as new oil lines and fire protection.

We will carry out an Oftec risk assessment as part of our installation survey to ensure positioning of the oil tank complies with British Standard Regulations and Oftec guidance.  We always recommend the installation of bunded oil tanks in order to prevent spillage and further protect the environment.

Is an oil boiler right for you?

There are up to 4 million homes in the UK that aren’t connected to a mains gas network - so you’re not alone in considering an oil boiler.

Alongside factors like your energy requirements, the size of your home and the location of your home, there are a few things to consider when choosing an oil boiler:

  • They are perfect for properties situated in rural or remote locations, where there’s no direct access to mains gas.
  • Oil boilers are an efficient alternative to a LPG central heating system.
  • Although they are more expensive to buy and install than gas and electric boilers, the running costs are significantly lower than most electrical tariffs, and roughly match the running costs of an LPG boiler.
  • If you want a long lasting boiler, an oil boiler could be right for you. They’re designed to be robust and durable, and if maintained and serviced properly, an oil boiler can last up to 15 years.
  • Like LPG boilers, oil boilers require a storage tank and a base that our expert team are qualified to install.
